Four signs that a therapy service provider is a partner you can trust

1 minute, 43 seconds

If you're a hospital executive with a stake in your facility's therapy program, deciding whether you should be working with a dedicated, outside organization is a big decision. While being able to leverage the specialized knowledge and experience of a therapy-focused organization can be of tremendous benefit, it's also important to make sure that you have the right partner.

What does this mean? Ideally, a therapy partner should be someone who understands your program and will work with you to develop a long-term strategy for success. What you don't want is a provider who is only interested in quick fixes and one-size-fits-all.

Look for these signals from a therapy service partner

As you research prospective therapy service partners, therapy partners should provide:

  1. Clear and quick communication ” Any potential therapy services partner should be able to get back to you promptly and with clear answers to your questions. Slow and vague communication early on should be seen as a warning sign.
  2. Transparency ” A trustworthy partner should let you know everything they're doing and why. In the same way that doctors should take time to explain treatments to patients, so should a therapy service organization with a client hospital.
  3. Honesty ” A partner shouldn't tell you everything you want to hear; otherwise you wouldn't need them in the first place. However, you also want to be able to know when something is working to avoid being oversold on a product or service.
  4. Rapport ” More than anything, if you're comfortable and confident with the people you're working with, it's easier to get things done. While this quality is harder to quantify, it's one that is always present in the most successful partnerships.
